Historical Theme
An image that represents, documents or is inspired by history, heritage or the past. This may include historic buildings, monuments, archaeological sites, historical objects, traditional crafts, re-enactments, vintage vehicles, museums or scenes that evoke a sense of another era.
In The Style Of
Create a photograph inspired by the distinctive style of a recognised photographer. Rather than copying a specific image, aim to capture the visual characteristics, techniques or artistic approach that make that photographer’s work instantly recognisable. Inspiration may come from their use of light, composition, colour, subject matter, perspective, mood, storytelling or post-processing.
Landscape
Landscape Photography is the creation of a photograph in which the natural environment such as mountains, coastlines, forests, rivers, deserts or farmland is the primary subject.
Key elements to consider:
- The subjectmust be the natural environment.
- Creative use of light, contrast and texture will enhance your photo.
- Remember Landscape doesn’t have to be wide angle. Consider using a standard or even a telephoto lens to isolate specific areas.
- Consider using shutter speed to depict motion or aperture to control depth of field.
